Some Pictures From The 1999

Hams (and friends) assisting the Red Cross with communications from the First Aid Station at the Fair
The Radio Room is in the back of the busy First Aid Station (through the open door in the center of the left-side picture).  Don W9VAK and Jack WØUCE handled Friday's first shift.  Jack spent the first hour hunting for a J-38 before finally figuring out the FM handheld.  This year, though, he didn't insist that Red Cross teams file all reports as formal message traffic.

(Jack reminds everyone to get ready for the RARS Auction at the November meeting.)

Bill KG4CXY and Barry KB4TKH take the afternoon shift Friday.  This was their first experience working communications at the Fair.  Right -- NEW CHAIRS!

Above - Red Cross "Station B", the remote
1st Aid Station, is located near Gate 11.

Right - the other side of the Fair Police Intercom unit, upstairs from the main First Aid Station.  No, that's not Darleen... it's Carol.  Darleen isn't working at the Fair this year.
