A Look At the
RARS Technician
License Class

These are pictures
from the Fall 1999 Class -

a great group of students,
instructors and VEs.

Jeff AC4ZO welcomes the class.
Lots of RARS members came
to support the students
18 students registered the first night -
a great crowd!  By the third night, we
were up to 22!

Let the learning begin...

Code Practice
(How do you get to Carnage Hall?)

Gary KN4AQ checks quiz answers above, while Neal N4HAF sends code practice the easy way, right.
Above - with the help of a laser, some fog from dry ice, and a class "volunteer," Jeff demonstrates the principles of F-Layer Propagation.  Ron is pointing to the spot where the laser is reflected back to "earth" (too faint to show in this picture).

Left - each class concludes with a quiz.  Class lectures can't cover all the material in each chapter.  The quiz reveals how well students have been studying the textbook.  Quiz scores are high!

Mike WA4BPJ taught the classes on
"Basic Electrical Principles" and "Circuit Components" -- that's Ohm's law and stuff.
You know, that stuff you forgot 30 seconds
after you passed your exam.
On the left, he's demonstrating series and parallel circuits.  On the right, he's manipulating a home-made capacitor
(by squeezing the plates together and increasing the capacitance, a neon light blinks slower...  well, I guess you'll just have to take the class next time).
