More About Public Service

Some of the Public Service events RARS members typically support:

March:

Odyssey of the Mind Tournament at the Chapel Hill High School Complex (3 schools).
Hams are needed for shadowing, coordination and to provide communication between the 3 schools in the complex. Chapel Hill High School, Smith Middle School and Seawell Elementary.

May:

MS Walk - Usually in Raleigh or RTP.
Participants walk, stroll, or roll between 1 and 5 miles to create a world free of MS!

June:

Tour de Cure - Diabetes Bike Event - Riders cover up to 200 miles in 2 days.

July:

Spin Cycle Firecracker 4th of July Ride - A local MS Bike event - usually over in time for lunch.

September:

The MS Bike Tour - 2 day event with cyclists covering up to 200 miles.

Light The Night Walk:

October:

THE AUTISM SOCIETY RIBBON RUN - Usually Downtown Raleigh.
Need about 18 HAM Radio Operators for about 4 hours in the morning.

The NC State Fair - Provide radio communications at the American Red Cross first aid station.
