How To Join or Renew Your RARS Membership

Thinking about joining RARS? Great! It's easy to join. We're not exclusive, and you join by simply sending in the application and dues. There's no sponsorship required, and new members are not "voted in." Anyone with an interest in Amateur Radio can join, but voting membership is reserved for licensed Amateurs only.

There are 3 ways to join or renew!

ONLINE   Securely and easily with a credit card.   FASTEST!

Via US mail   with a check FAST!

At a RARS meeting with a check or cash   Not so FAST!
(come to a meeting and see the RARS Treasurer)

If you don't have a credit card, can't make a meeting soon, and the download isn't working, just drop an e-mail or phone call to the RARS Treasurer, and ask for a membership application via US mail.

To pay via US mail with a check: The RARS Application form is here in Adobe Acrobat PDF format. You can also pre-fill this form and bring it to a club meeting to pay. Here's what to do:

  1. Download the PDF form.   (Requires Adobe Reader - download it here.)
  2. Open it in Adobe Reader.    (It may open automatically when downloaded.)
  3. Print the form to your printer.
  4. Fill out the form and mail it with your payment for dues to the RARS Treasurer. The mailing address for the current treasurer will be on the form.
(Note: this form allows you to type information into the form while it's still on your computer screen. You can't save it, but you can print it that way, and the treasurer might actually be able to read it!)

Dues are $18/year, beginning with July, and are pro-rated depending on the month you join (that's $1.50/month from whenever it is now until June...better yet, here's a table to help you figure it out).

Month You Join Amount Due
July $18.00
August $16.50
September $15.00
October $13.50
November $12.00
December $10.50
January $9.00
February $7.50
March $6.00
April $4.50
May $3.00
June $1.50

* Join for a full year in April at the RARSfest, and we'll give you April, May and June free!

We have a discounted rate of $12/year for seniors (60 and over) and children (16 and under). That would be a dollar a month, and we expect you don't need a chart to figure that out. And if you don't have your ham license yet, it's half price ($9/year) for a non-voting membership. That one is too difficult even for us to figure, so you'll have to make your own chart.
