Raleigh Amateur Radio Society (RARS) Website Moves to Deltaforce

For many years RTPNET, a non-profit member supported web hosting service that supported only non-profit organizations primarily in the Triangle, has provided website hosting services to RARS. However demand for their service has decreased over recent years and in September they announced they would be going out of business at the end of the year. RTPNET was a customer of Deltaforce, a local Internet Services Provider owned and operated by Amnon Nissan who had personally provided most of the support for RTPNET in recent years. When RTPNET decided to close down, Amnon contacted RARS and offered to host our website on his servers under the same arrangements as we currently had with RTPNET. The decision of the RARS Board of Directors was to accept the offer.

The RARS website was copied to Deltaforce and several RARS members tested the new site to make sure everything would work. Then on the evening of December 20th RARS users were switched to the Deltaforce site. There have been a few minor problems since then but basically all functions seem to be working as designed.

There is one change that YOU need to make:
The RARS-L and RARSBOARD-L email lists (A.K.A. Email Reflectors or Repeaters) were also provided by RTPNET so they had be moved to Deltaforce as well. As a result they now have new email adddresses and you must use the new addresses when posting messages to the mail lists:

RARS-L must be sent to rars-l@lists.deltaforce.net
RARSBOARD-L must be sent to rarsboard-l@lists.deltaforce.net

You should also update your email clients address book, contacts, or favorites to be sure email from these Email Lists gets delivered to your inbox instead of going to your Spam disposal.

Please report any problems to webmaster@rars.org

For more information about the RARS Email List (email repeater) see the RARS-L Email List page.
